Character Meals
Hey there, fellow Disney enthusiasts! Are you ready to embark on a culinary adventure like no other? Well, you’re in for a treat (literally) because today, we’re diving into the enchanting world of Character Meals at Walt Disney World. From Mickey and Minnie to Cinderella and Goofy, these delightful dining experiences offer the perfect blend of delicious food and unforgettable encounters with your favorite Disney characters. So, let’s put on our Mickey ears and get ready to explore all the fantastic character meals available in the most magical place on Earth!
Important note about dining in the Disney parks: To dine at an in-park table-service restaurant, you need a confirmed dining reservation for the total number of Guests—regardless of age, plus a theme park reservation and valid admission for the same park on that same date for each Guest ages 3 and up. Dining reservations do not guarantee access to a park, and Park Hopper availability may change daily. Guests should book in-park dining at the park where they have a Disney Park Pass reservation.
Character Meals that Don’t Require a Park Ticket
First off, let’s take a look at the options you have without purchasing a park ticket. If you’re vacationing near Disney World but skipping the parks to save money, a character meal is the perfect way to sneak in some Disney magic! I’ve known so many people over the years, that didn’t have the budget for a full Disney day, but chose to do a character meal instead. At around $60 a person, character meals aren’t cheap by any means, but compared to a park ticket and food for the day, you’ll still come out ahead.
Don’t think of it as a meal, think of it as a dining experience! Here are the character meals you can book without having to purchase a park ticket:
- Topolino’s Terrace: *Breakfast only! Located at the Riviera Resort. While Topolino’s is open for breakfast and dinner, there are only characters at breakfast. We love the breakfast experience at Topolino’s! Mickey and friends are present in super cute attire, unique to the Riviera Resort.
- Cape May Café: *Breakfast only! Located at the Beach Club Resort. Cape May Café is open for breakfast and dinner, but characters are only present at breakfast. Minnie’s Beach Blast Breakfast features Minnie and her friends. Characters are subject to change.
- 1900 Park Fare: Currently unavailable
- Chef Mickey’s: Breakfast and dinner options available. Located at the Contemporary Resort. Mickey and his friends make their rounds and visit with each table as you enjoy the all-you-care-to-eat buffet.
- Ohana: Breakfast only! Located at the Polynesian Resort. The Best Friends breakfast features characters from Lilo and Stitch.
- Story Book Dining at Artist Point: Dinner only! Located at the Wilderness Lodge. Featuring a Prix Fixe menu of American and German cuisine. Characters include Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy and the Evil Queen.
Parking for character meals at Disney resorts: In most cases, if you show proof of your dining reservation as you enter the resort parking lot, you will be granted entrance to park for free.

Kid’s Meals and Special Diets
As a general rule, Disney is absolutely amazing when it comes to kid’s meals for picky eaters, as well as allergy-friendly options and plant-based options. Some restaurants include plant-based options right on the main menu, but if they don’t, they are always available upon your request. The same goes for allergy-friendly options and special diets. If you have any concerns, Disney does a great job at accommodating. You can also almost always count on their being classic kid meals available (like mac and cheese or chicken strips at dinner and Mickey shaped waffles at breakfast).
Cancelation Policies
Each restaurant at Disney World has their own cancelation policy and you will want to make note of it. Most allow you to cancel up until 2 hours prior, but some do not allow cancelations or modifications and some require advanced payment. You can read all the details here: Canceling and Modifying
